Terms of Service
The terms governing your use of the Email Drafter application.
Last updated: July 1, 2026
Draft for review. These Terms are a working draft and must be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before launch. Values in [brackets] and the contact addresses are placeholders pending verification.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between DraftPilot Ltd (“we”, “us”, “Email Drafter”) and the Shopify merchant (“you”) that installs or uses the Email Drafter application (the “App”). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Email Drafter is a Shopify application that reads incoming customer support emails from a connected Gmail or Outlook mailbox, retrieves related Shopify order context, and uses AI (Anthropic’s Claude) to generate draft replies for your review and, where enabled, automatic sending. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must have an active Shopify store and authority to bind that store to these Terms. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the mailbox and Shopify authorisations you connect, and for all activity under your account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful, deceptive, or abusive purpose, or to send spam.
- Use the App to process data you are not authorised to process.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the App or its infrastructure.
- Resell, sublicense, or misrepresent the App without our written consent.
- Rely on auto-send features in a way that violates any applicable law or the rights of your customers.
4. AI-generated content
Draft replies are generated by an AI model and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing content before it is sent and for all communications sent from your mailbox, including any sent automatically where you have enabled auto-send. The App is a drafting aid and does not provide legal, financial, or professional advice.
5. Subscriptions, billing, and trials
- Paid plans (Starter, Pro, and Business) are billed on a recurring monthly basis through Shopify Billing. Charges appear on your Shopify invoice and are subject to Shopify’s billing terms.
- Plans include a free trial as described on our pricing page. Fees are charged after the trial unless you cancel beforehand.
- You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from within the App. Plan changes and cancellations take effect according to the in-app terms shown at the time of the change. Except where required by law, fees already charged are non-refundable.
- Prices are stated in USD and may change with notice as permitted by Shopify and applicable law.
6. Third-party services
The App integrates with Shopify, Google (Gmail), Microsoft (Outlook), and Anthropic (Claude). Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or actions. See our Privacy Policy for how data is shared with these providers.
7. Data and privacy
Our handling of data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. As between you and us, you remain the controller of your customers’ personal data and are responsible for having a lawful basis to process it through the App.
8. Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the App and its underlying software. You retain all rights in your store data and the content you and your customers create. You grant us a limited licence to process that content only as needed to provide the App.
9. Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated drafts will be accurate or suitable for any purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App will not exceed the amounts you paid us for the App in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify store. We
may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if required for security,
legal, or operational reasons. On termination, your right to use the App ends and we
will handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy (including the
shop/redact purge after uninstall).
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, by notice in the App. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales , and the courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have.
